Sustainability

Our family has been working to enhance and restore the natural environment of our farm, Pambula, since purchasing the property in 1993. During this time we have undertaken revegetation projects using both direct seeding and planting of seedlings, using species native to the region. This work has resulted in a marked improvement to the diversity of native bird species on the property, whilst also enhancing the productiveness of the paddocks used for grazing cattle. Our cattle now enjoy the protection mature native trees and bushes offer from wind, rain and heat, as well as enhanced pasture quality.

The beautiful Heritage scrub that lies in the centre of our holding, now has corridors of mature native plants extending outwards, offering a larger area of suitable habitat for our native species. Weed control is an ongoing project to further enhance the protection of this special area.

The purchase of the land upon which the Old Coach Road Estate villa sits, was undertaken in 2019. This enabled us to extend the revegetation project we started in 1994, and already the results are visible to our guests. The creek lines have been fenced, as have the corridors where we are actively undertaking plantings.
